SECRET STUDENT
"Secret Student" is a way to promote positive behavior in the classroom! I choose 2 students randomly everyday and their names go in a special "secret student" magnetic jar that is displayed on my board. No one knows who the secret students are. At the end of the day, I pull down the container and take a quick peek at which students are in the jar. If the students had a great day... I announce the name/s and point out all the positive behaviors...sitting quietly, finishing work, following directions, great hallway walking, an act of kindness, etc. If a kiddo whose name was in the jar struggled that day with their behavior, I DON'T call them out in front of the class. I simply explain that whoever it was wasn't a star student that day. If they earn the honor of being the "Secret Student" they get...
*a special treat..."star"bursts
*5 dojo points
*share "Good News"
*they take home a special slip that states they were the "Secret Student"
*the next day they may write with pen & a trophy sits at their seat for the day.
Newsletters...
Most newsletters will be done through here (Weebly). I will try and send reminders for you to check our Weebly website through e-mail or dojo.
ITEMS FROM HOME
Please be sure that items from home (such as toys, make-up, stuffed animals, beaded necklaces, candy, gum, and etc.) stay at home. These things can cause big distractions because they are playing with them or they come up missing. Please do not bring anything to school that is not specifically for school. If items are brought to school that should have been left at home it/they will be taken and given back at the end of the year. Thank you for your support!
